Rescue

In the wee hours of this morning, I was asleep… it was around 3:30 am, yet I could hear the cry of my cat. The thing is, he can be a drama king🙄, so I decided to ignore him and enjoy my sleep because I felt like it wasn’t that deep. A few minutes later, I had to go to the bathroom and on my way back to my room which houses my precious bed😆, I decided to investigate why he was making such a fuss. I knew it definitely had something to do with his food because my cat doesn’t joke with his food… lol. I did some research, and I decided to put him on an eating schedule, so I don’t give him food after and before a certain time. He usually has a little food in his bowl during the night but I do not add some more before the day breaks. He has this annoying habit of rejecting the little food in the bowl and crying for extra in a bid to cajole me to give him some more, but when I give him a little ‘pep’ talk and let him know I won’t add some more, and add a little shaking of his bowl (I don’t know why I thought of this😂), he eats the food. I have become used to this strategy of his and I thought that was what was going on, but I couldn't have been more wrong. When I moved closer, I realized that an army (literally) of ants had invaded his food and there was no way he would be able to eat the food. "Bingo! That is the problem! This is why he is in so much distress", I said to myself. I had to get rid of the ants and the food because there was no way I could salvage it. After cleaning his bowl, I replaced the food he had lost and added a little more even though it was against the rule I had made. Guess what he was doing? He was just chill watching me, his servant🙄😏😂, sort his problem out. I swept the fallen army of ants, cleaned his food area, and put his food and water back. He didn’t waste any time; he started eating like the foodie he is, overjoyed that he had been sorted out.

There are a few lessons I learnt from this experience, and I’d like to share them with you:

He knew who to call. Who do you call in times of distress? It had happened before, and I had helped him out, so he knew I had the solution to his problem. You need to remember past victories and recognize that if God did it before He will do it again. No matter the army that assails you or your sustenance, your Father God will stretch out His hand and deliver you. You just need to cry out to Him. His Word says: If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! (Matthew 7:11)

Many times, we give up too early. We cry out to God and when He doesn’t come through in our timing, we throw in the towel. But how about we cry out some more like the blind man who cried out to Jesus? He was told to shut up by the crowd but He refused to be silenced because He knew that salvation was at hand and he was going to do anything to lay hold of it. From his story, we see that Jesus healed him. God will rescue you even if others see your situation as a lost cause. All you need to do is to never stop crying out to Him.

God is ready to break protocol for His children. Sometimes we get used to routines and we think that life must always move in a certain order, but God’s ways are not our ways neither are our thoughts His thoughts. It doesn’t matter what the status quo is, when the time is right, He will show up and disrupt every routine or cycle you have been used to and He always shows up big!

What is your disposition as you wait on God? Do you panic or do you allow God’s peace to fill your heart and mind? Mondy (my cat), showed me how to wait when God is sorting me out. He stopped crying and he was still because he knew that I had good plans for him. How much more your Father whose plans for you are beyond your wildest imagination? There comes a time when you begin to sense that God is working. You may not see the manifestation yet, but you just know. All you need to do is to relax in His presence and thank Him. You need to totally trust Him and have an aura of peace and steady trust. The end results will always be GOOD!

Our Father God is a Restorer. When I cleaned the bowl, I put the food that was lost with a little extra inside it. When the enemy thinks that he has stolen from you and there is no way you will get what he has taken back, I want to remind you that God has clearly stated in scripture that He will restore what was eaten by pests (Joel 2:25). It is only a matter of time and be assured that He won’t just give you exactly what you lost but double for your trouble!

I just want to encourage you today. You are not forgotten! God cares about you more than you could ever imagine and all He wants is for you to cry out to Him believing with all your heart that He will show up. He always responds to the cry of His children because He is a Good Good Father! At the end of it all, I believe with all my heart that you will testify that your Father broke all protocol for you and restored what you lost.

With love,

Rosaliz.
