Awestruck

Dear Papa, It’s so easy to get overly familiar with You; to lose sight of who You really are… to assume that it’s okay to take a step without asking You. I have walked this path many times…on this path I have gone uphill and then downhill, using my own mind to figure out what my journey is supposed to be and it has been very draining.   I feel like my life is running in circles like the Israelites in the wilderness. And that not-so-little fox called pride makes me question why my life should ever be like the ‘unfulfilled’ Israelites in the wilderness. After all, I’m under a new covenant and Your grace is sufficient for me, right? But when I take another look at this cycle I have subjected my life to, the only conclusion I can come to is that You are bigger and greater than anything I could ever imagine or dream of. Burst My Bubble

Dear Papa, What do You see when You look at the world? I know Your heart’s desire is to draw all people to Yourself so why does this sense of entitlement make me see myself as better than others because they do not believe in You? Like a child who holds on to her most cherished toy and won’t let go, pride is making it hard for me to see things through Your eyes. Your Son laid down His life for the whole world that they may receive eternal life and be reconciled with You. He did not pay the price for me to see myself as higher than others but to desire to look more and more like Him with each passing day. Jesus came for the sick and boy, was I sick! So who am I to think that I am better than others? The apostle Paul knew that it was so easy to allow pride to set in and that’s why he emphasized that it is by grace that I am saved and not by my works lest I should boast. You are teaching me that I don’t always have to be right because I am human. I was made to be in alignment ...
