You Still My Anxious Soul

Dear Papa,

Why am I afraid? Will I ever be truly free? I know Your Word says I should cast all my cares on You because You care for me but I can’t help but think that I am carrying the weight of this world. Should I run from my fears or face them head on? I am reminded that You have not given me a spirit of fear but a spirit of power, of love, and of a sound mind. You don’t want me to run from my fears or face them on my own. You want me to come into a place of total and unhindered surrender. To know that I am not alone and I can never run from Your presence.

In those moments where I feel left behind and fear creeps in, I will listen to Your still voice and I will not be shaken. I have come to the point of discovering that resting in the peace only You provide is a choice! It may not always be my first choice but may I always come to that place eventually. When I find myself in a place where my heart is overwhelmed with the burden of trying to do everything right and I fail, may I run back to You over and over again. 
I can never become who You’ve made me to be or do what You’ve called me to do outside of You. All my efforts will be in vain.You are not looking for a ‘know-it-all’ or a perfect person; You just want me! What did I do to deserve such a great salvation? I could never in my wildest dreams earn it and I definitely do not deserve it but You keep giving and pouring out Your love because it is by grace that I am saved. Thank You for grace! Your hands are not too short to reach me therefore I will not be afraid. You made me for more and I will not settle for less!!

So when all these questions that are meant to pull me down come, may I be ready to show them how big my Papa is. Fear has no place in me because who Your Son sets free is free indeed! I am letting go of my fears and handing them over to You. Now, I can truly LIVE. I can DREAM. I can walk with You unafraid and unashamed. I AM FREE! You make me BRAVE! I love You💓.
